TRAINING
The, often, inexperienced participants in an adventure park or high ropes course will engage with the challenge of the different elements. This inexperience combined with what can be quite the challenging element can result in participants halting and being unable to proceed. There are of course numerous reasons for participant’s inability to continue. Fear could cause them to freeze and their muscles to seize up or they could have overestimated their own abilities. In any case the participant will no longer be able to proceed and must be evacuated from the element or route.
In certain circumstances the situation can arise where a participant doesn’t reach the end of a zip line and isn’t able enough to proceed by themselves.
The Generic Rescuer is an instructor with additional training. During this course, which is largely practical, the Rescuer will be taught the techniques required to safely evacuate a participant from an element or platform. In addition to this the course covers the added and specific risks involved in performing a rescue.
The ECRA certificate Generic Rescuer allows you to work at any ERCA affiliated park.
